🛡️ Burn Storage
Encrypted File Hosting on a Time limit...

This is a secure, time-based file storage pilot powered by Bitcoin.
Select your plan, choose how you'd like to pay, and then upload your file. Your data is deleted after your selected rental period — no backups, no fingerprints.

1️⃣ Select Your Storage Plan

2️⃣ Choose Payment Method

BTC (BTCPay)    Cash App    LNbits (Lightning)

3️⃣ Upload Your File

This pilot project is designed for secure, temporary file sharing with no personal data collection. Thank you for supporting decentralized tools.

🔐 How Burn Storage Works

Burn Storage is a time-limited, Bitcoin-powered file upload service. You rent encrypted space for a few days — then the file self-destructs. No sign-up. No tracking. No recovery.

🛠️ Behind the Scenes

  • Files are uploaded via a Joomla-based form.
  • Storage plans are prepaid using BTC, LNbits, or Cash App.
  • Uploaded files are pinned on Filebase using the IPFS protocol.
  • Each file has an expiration time, after which it is permanently deleted.

🔒 Privacy by Design

  • No user accounts required
  • No cookies or tracking tools
  • No indexing or file scanning
  • No IP logging or fingerprinting
  • Temporary file hashes are not shared publicly

🔥 What Happens to My File?

Think of it like renting a car — when your time is up, the keys are returned and your session ends. Your file disappears after the rental period. Even we can’t recover it.

  • Files are tied to the selected plan duration (e.g., 3–15 days)
  • Deletion is triggered automatically via a scheduled expiration script
  • You receive a unique IPFS hash and expiration notice when uploading

🧱 Tech Stack (Build Notes)

  • CMS: Joomla
  • Server: PHP Apache Server
  • Payments: BTCPay Server (on Start9 node) + LNbits + Cash App
  • Storage: Filebase + IPFS

📢 Why This Matters

Burn Storage is a pilot project designed for privacy-first users. It’s ideal for:

  • Students
  • Whistleblowers
  • Investigative journalists
  • Crypto-native professionals
  • Anyone needing secure, short-term file delivery

How to Pay with Lightning

  • Phoenix (Android | iOS) – Simple, secure, and self-custodial.
  • Muun Wallet (Android | iOS) – Great for new users, fast payments.
  • Breez (Android | iOS) – Streamlined experience, easy for daily use.
  • Wallet of Satoshi (Android) – Beginner-friendly, custodial (Android only).
  • Zeus (iOS) – Advanced, connects to your own node (iOS only).
  • BlueWallet (Android | iOS) – Best for on-chain, advanced watch-only Lightning.

Any of these wallets let you scan our QR code to pay instantly. Lightning payments are fast, low-fee, and don’t require a credit card or personal info.

This is a transparent, no-backdoor storage tool created to serve the community. Your data. Your rules. Zero compromise.

The Three Blockchain Layers Explained

Layer 1: The Base Protocol

Description: This is the foundational layer of the blockchain. It includes the primary blockchain architecture and underlying protocols (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum).

Responsibilities:

  • Secures the network using consensus mechanisms like Proof of Work (PoW) or Proof of Stake (PoS).
  • Manages native cryptocurrencies (e.g., BTC for Bitcoin, ETH for Ethereum).
  • Provides the basic infrastructure for transactions and block validation.

Examples:

  • Bitcoin: Focused on secure and decentralized peer-to-peer transactions.
  • Ethereum: Introduced smart contracts to enable decentralized applications (DApps).

Layer 2: Scaling Solutions

Description: Built on top of Layer 1, Layer 2 is designed to address scalability and efficiency challenges. It improves transaction speed, reduces costs, and offloads work from the main blockchain.

Responsibilities:

  • Processes transactions off-chain while settling results back on Layer 1.
  • Enhances scalability without sacrificing decentralization or security.

Examples:

  • Lightning Network (Bitcoin): Enables instant microtransactions with minimal fees.
  • Polygon (MATIC): A sidechain solution for scaling Ethereum, reducing gas fees.

Layer 3: Application Layer

Description: This is the user-facing layer where decentralized applications (DApps) operate. It interacts with the blockchain via smart contracts and APIs.

Responsibilities:

  • Powers use cases like DeFi, NFTs, gaming, and supply chain management.
  • Provides user interfaces and functionalities built on Layer 1 and Layer 2.

Examples:

  • Uniswap: A decentralized exchange for trading cryptocurrencies (built on Ethereum).
  • OpenSea: A marketplace for buying and selling NFTs.
  • Axie Infinity: A blockchain-based play-to-earn game.

Quick Examples to Illustrate

  • Layer 1: You make a Bitcoin transaction. It gets verified and added to the Bitcoin blockchain.
  • Layer 2: You use the Lightning Network to pay for coffee instantly without congesting the Bitcoin main chain.
  • Layer 3: You log into a DeFi app like Aave to lend Ethereum and earn interest.
